Who We Are |
The Hall is licensed for up to 100 people and is used for all sorts of events from discos to wedding receptions, children’s birthday parties to quiz nights and anniversary parties to music rehearsals. It is the home of Totternhoe Parish Council and South Beds Band, and is used for evening classes, yoga, rieki, keep fit, dog training and public meetings.
The Totternhoe Memorial Hall Social Club provides a games room-snooker, pool and darts- and runs a bar with the cheapest beer in the village! Using the Hall and the facilities of the Social Club are very important-the income from these events pays for the upkeep of, and improvements to, the building. Social Club opening hours are detailed on our Home Page. Membership is a very reasonable £10 per annum, a membership form can be obtained at the Hall or requested from this site (by filling in the form on the Contact Page.). |
Our History |
The Memorial Hall was opened in 1928 and dedicated as a memorial to those villagers who were killed in the First World War. The land on which it stands was given to the village and the building was paid for by donations from local people. In the Second World War it acted as an overflow site for the School and was the base for the local ARP wardens and the WRVS. An additional memorial plaque was erected to the memory of those villagers who did not return from the Second World War.
